The Haute-Vienne département has developed a free application to help you learn about the rich history of the medieval site at Châlucet whilst having fun.

Download the "Forteresse de Châlucet" application and travel back in time: the various incarnations of Châlucet are portrayed, from its origins in 1130 with the construction of the first castle to its transformation into a palace by Géraud de Maulmont at the end of the 13th century and right up to its demolition.

The application uses several kinds of immersive technologies: 360° reconstitution, target points, augmented reality, video, etc.

It also offers historical mediation: follow in the footsteps of both imaginary and real characters in Châlucet’s history and get to the heart of this exceptional historical site.

The free application "Châlucet et les explorateurs du temps" is a riddles-based game to help you explore the history of the Châlucet fortress whilst having fun, either alone or as a small group.

Meet the explorer Céleste Desfontaine, who arrived at Châlucet aboard the Odysseus, her surprising quantic time-travelling machine. The navigational equipment in her tele-transporter has suffered storm damage and Céleste has no idea which period in history she has landed in.

Your mission: to help her work out exactly when in Châlucet’s history she has landed using the clues that she sends you.

The application is made up of several mini-games (image reconstitution, trial and error- and logic-based games…) and is in 2 separate parts: one part consists of about 20 riddles to be solved at home, and the second part of the adventure takes place at Châlucet itself. The time and space portal that will allow Céleste to return to our era is set in the heart of the Châlucet ruins…
