Well-hidden gem
A lovely, peaceful site - actually two castles of different periods, the earlier dating back to the twelfth century. Wooded, sheltered, peaceful and interesting. Definitely worth it if you are a fan of "real" fortified castles rather than "chateaux"!

Beautiful setting!
we've been many times over the last 10 years - its free to visit & quite a magical setting. You do need to be fit as there are lots of steps but well worth it. Take a picnic as there are plenty of picnic tables along the pretty ruver setting. Recommended

Good climb

Much improved access, but it's quite a climb to reach the top. Very dramatic among the trees. Worth going back and seeing the views in autumn

For History enthusiasts
Bit of a hilly climb but if you like historical ruins it's worth it, this is full of history. It would help if you did a bit of research before.
